CALIFORNIA LAND TITLE OF MARIN Celebrates 50 Years of Business in Marin County, CA

SAN RAFAEL, CA (June 29, 2005) - On Thursday evening July 21st California Land Title of Marin, a division of Stewart Title of California celebrated its 50th year serving the Marin County community at a fun and festive 50's themed event attended by over 500 clients, business associates, colleagues, friends, state and local dignitaries and even Miss America 1955.

Lee Meriwether, Miss America 1955, a Bay Area native was on hand for the festivities and introduced by Joe Garbarino, one of the boys responsible for convincing her to enter the local Miss San Francisco pageant... and the rest was history. Lee reminisced and enjoyed special moments with all the guests... even "cutting up the rug" 50's style with CAL LAND President, Gene Di Basilio.

Opening its doors on July 21, 1955, with a small group of employees, CAL LAND has grown to 80+ employees and services clients in four locations throughout Marin; San Rafael, Greenbrae, Mill Valley and Novato. As part of their business philosophy, CAL LAND "gets involved" in Marin and the industry, serving on many Boards and Commissions throughout the county and state. Individually and as a company, they sponsor and volunteer for numerous programs and events throughout Marin. CAL LAND is known for its local expertise, services and experienced professionals. At the event, the company and it's principles Chuck Bennett, Gene Di Basilio, Paul Hickman and Al Pickrel were honored by the California State Senate and Assembly, Marin County Board of Supervisors, Novato Unified School District, Marin's Non-Profit Community, the Novato City Council and the City of San Rafael declared July 21st CAL LAND DAY!

On behalf of the company, Chuck Bennett, CEO thanked the dignitaries and attendees saying "It's hard to believe that in 1955 when we opened our doors, the average price of a home was $10,950... we are so grateful for all these honors and for all of you being here... but we can only do what we do, because of people like you and all your sales, re-sales, re-fi's, litigation transactions and even foreclosures. We're honored to play a small role in the vitality of our community and tonight we celebrate all of you, because you have supported us in the past 50 years. On behalf of my partners here and everyone at CAL LAND, thank you!"

The venue was the extraordinary courtyard of Marin landmark St. Vincent's School for Boys. Guests were greeted by a host of valets and the walkway was lined with vintage 1955 cars with nostalgic facts and stars of the era. Descending down the staircase into the courtyard, guest were struck by the festive 50's atmosphere... "rocking around the clock" with the John Allair band, a feast of delicious food and drink served by Ray's Catering team dressed like 1950's car hops and even included a "ice cream soda bar." All 500+ attendees enjoyed the food, dancing and socializing with old friends colleagues until the sun set on CAL LAND DAY.
