Charles Bennett, CEO installed as President of the Novato Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors for 2003
Novato, CA, January 16, 2003
Charles W. Bennett, CEO of CAL LAND, Marin's Premiere local Title and Escrow Company since 1955 was installed as President of the Novato Chamber of Commerce for 2003 last evening at a Gala Dinner Reception at Stone Tree Golf Course.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Bennett said "The mission statement of our Chamber is 'to create and sustain a strong diverse economy as an advocate for business' and we will emphasize that this year by taking the lead in uniting the North Bay Chambers to try to influence our leaders in Sacramento and Washington to consider the impacts of their decisions on our communities and our votes." He went on to say that "internally we will make the Chamber more relevant to our members by enhancing and increasing benefits to our members". Mr. Alan Aranha, Novato Chamber's Executive Director commented "I am delighted to have this opportunity to work closely with Chuck. The leadership he brings to the Novato Chamber Board will help us build on our successes. We share a vision of increasing and improving the real value of programs and services the Chamber provides our members and community."
Mr. Bennett will serve on the Board with other business community leaders including Daryl Weinroth, Dennis DeNaut, Jeff Meston, Susie Brown, Denise Athas, Marie Borders, Dick Blaustein, Skp Fenner, Alex Forrester, Aldo Gigliotti, Roger Grossman, Kenneth Harth, John Marshall, Ralph O'Rear, Jerry Peters, Nancy Rosell, Patsy White and John Williams.
Mr. Bennett has been actively involved in the Novato community and most recently was named Novato Citizen of the Year for 2002. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of CLTA and is chairman for Northbay Family Homes. He and his company have sponsored and volunteered for programs and events including the Novato Youth Center, Novato Schools, Novato and San Marin High School Boosters, Novato Summer Concerts in the Park, Novato Rotary, North Bay Children's Center, Indian Valley Junior Golf Program, Novato Human Needs Center, Labor Day at the Lake, Novato Theater Restoration, Marin Community Food Bank, Hamilton Festival, as well as many other events and organizations throughout Marin County.
